Phew...the holiday season is in full effect yo! Festive gatherings, year end work deadlines...the dreaded mall (oh double cringe!). And for many of us that means a few missed workouts, a few more holiday treats, a few (or more) adult beverages.
There are plenty of blogs out there giving advice on how to combat all the festive health faux pas, but sometimes life happens and we let loose a little. I am not saying that all good sense should be pushed aside and copious amounts of gingerbreads should be consumed. Gasp NO! But, the reality is that this time of year is busy and full of family, friends and food. Enjoy it, spend time with special people and celebrate. Keep on track as much as possible and get in for your workouts as much as your schedule allows. And for gosh darn sake...if you notice a little shortbread squish around your middle don't panic and DON"T beat yourself up. Focusing on the negative will not make it go away.
Be kind to yourself this holiday season, reflect on the amazing year that was 2010, and all that you accomplished in the gym and out, and plan for all the awesome'ness you want to get done in 2011!
